Laparoscopic one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB)

Laparoscopic one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is a technique of intestinal bypass used for weight loss. It has been known by other names such as Mini-bypass, Omega-loop gastric bypass and Single-anastomosis gastric bypass.

The operation consists of two components: First, a long, narrow, restrictive lesser-curvature gastric pouch; Second, a small bowel (jejunal) bypass with a single join between gastric pouch and small bowel (gastro-jejunal anastomosis). The expected weight loss is higher and comorbidity control seems to be better compared to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
